The Introduction to Meisner in Music class is a course designed to introduce participants to foundational concepts of Sanford Meisner’s approach to acting, and apply it in singing.
Learning Pathway

Movement to next levels of classes are dependent on the assessment of the teachers. Depending on the needs of the student, the student will either be directed towards an acting-centric pathway or a music-centric pathway.

Program Guidelines
- This program is for students 18 years old and above.
- The program lasts for 8 sessions (3 online, 5 in person)
- The maximum number of students per class is 8 only to ensure the quality of the training that each student receives.
- An audition is required for entry into the class. Deadlines for auditions end on May 15.
Class Details
A 4-week course designed to introduce participants to foundational concepts of Sanford Meisner’s approach to acting, and apply it in singing. This course exposes participants to consistent, sustainable practices for singing and storytelling in any musical theater setting. Emphasis is placed on the biology & anatomy of the voice, breath management, and extended aspects of vocal production. Participants will also work to enhance and evolve their storytelling skills in truthful, honest character work, grounded-ness, and creating a consistent approach in performance and auditioning.
