THE MEISNER PROGRAM

The Meisner Program delves deep into the technique and is currently composed of three levels: Foundation, Exploration, and Characterization. Each level is composed of 10 sessions, with each session being 3 hours long. We only accept maximum 10 students per class to give more chances for the students to do the exercises.

In addition to the regular class sessions, Meisner Program students also gain access to Sightlines Membership Benefits (including weekly open rehearsals, discounted rates to other classes, special events & workshops with guest teachers).

LEVEL 1: FOUNDATION

10 sessions + access to weekly open rehearsals | 3 hours each session | 2 sessions per week

Level 1 aims to build a solid foundation of acting skills in order for the actor to respond truthfully and spontaneously in the moment, and eliminate self-consciousness. The foundational skills are really doing, working off the other person, opening your heart, inventing meaningfully and specifically to find a strong point of view, and emotional preparation. Repetition and Independent Activity will also be introduced as tools for the actors to develop their instincts.
